"I WISH for a class like no other!" Now Available: The Sha'ir Class by Campaign & Craft. What is a Sha'ir? Masters of the Elements: The Sha'ir have an innate mastery of the elements¸ one that allows them to communicate with¸ command and even bind the essence and emissaries of each elemental plane¸ whether they be minor gen elementals¸ or incredibly powerful genie lords. Planar Gatekeepers¸ Guards and Guides: Sha'ir are planar travellers capable of creating doorways between the elemental planes and our own material plane. Some Sha'ir use these powers to capture¸ enslave and coerce elemental beings into servitude to increase their power. Whilst other Sha'ir act as protectors of these planar gates¸ to stop others tampering or toying with powers beyond their understanding. Thieves of Magical Secrets: Sha'ir are tricksters known for their clever natures and devious exploits. Many wizards¸ sorcerers and other spellcasters fear and avoid these arcane swindlers for their ability to steal magical secrets from their minds without a trace. Art of the Deal: The Sha'ir are often compared to fiendish entities from the Nine-Hells¸ as they possess an exquisite finesse for contracts¸ deals and politics that allows them to parley with the ancient and powerful forces of the elemental planes. As a result¸ most Sha'ir have extensive experience dealing with the elemental planes and the genies lords therein¸ thus¸ they are favoured diplomats and emissaries to the planar realms. Al-Qadim & Your Setting The Sha'ir is a class inspired by¸ but not limited to the Al-Qadim setting and the class of the same name from Dungeons & Dragons 3.5. This class is a labour of love that has been play tested extensively within my own campaign over a period of two years. The class can be incorporated with relative ease into any existing campaign providing the elemental planes exist and can be interacted with in some small way. Included In this Document: Unique Level 1 - 20 Class Features: A Unique twist on the common spell caster that features a percentile-based spell theft system¸ fate dice¸ cosmic containers¸ elemental familiars and portals. 3 Awesome subclasses: The Way of the Martial: A Sha'ir that follows the Way of the Martial trains extensively to manipulate elemental magic as part of their fighting style¸ learning to strike down their enemies using elementally infused weaponry. The Way of the Master: A Sha'ir that follows the Way of the Master coerces and enslaves elemental gen and genie¸ forcing them to bend to their wishes¸ so that they can mould reality to the whims and fancies. The Way of the Mind: A Sha'ir that follows the Way of the Mind focusses on exercising their mind and training their memory¸ dedicating themselves to a life of study in order to unravel the many secrets of the arcane. Elemental Familiars: The Sha'ir document includes 8 original minor elemental stat blocks of varying challenge ratings¸ including earth¸ air¸ water¸ fire¸ ooze¸ ash¸ magma and ice. These minor elementals were created to act as Gen familiar for your character¸ aiding them in fetching spells and fighting alongside them on the battlefield. Detailed Art: The document includes 18 pieces of custom art¸ including stylized minor elementals¸ full page cover art¸ sub-class art and ability / feature art¸ all lovingly created by Zach Hendershott to help inspire the creation of your own characters and convey the general class aesthetic.
