The Mephit: Elemental Imps & Planar Couriers (5e)
Formed from the union of two disparate elements¸ mephits represent a bridge between forces that are often in competition with each other. Sometimes feeling conflicted by their dual nature¸ empowered by it at other times¸ mephits often seek to bridge the material world and the elemental. They have a reputation for trickery¸ though they are generally more curious or naïve than sinister. This supplement contains rules for playing as a mephit¸ a small and impish being from the elemental planes. It features 6 subraces of mephit adapted from the versions in the 5E Monster Manual as well as commentary on aberrant mephits inspired by variants in 2nd and 3rd edition. It also features several feats to replicate abilities present in the Monster Manual that did not seem appropriate for all mephit characters. This supplement also includes several pages of mephit lore to help players define their character's place in the wider world. This lore synthesizes the malicious imps of the 2nd and 5th editions with the curious tricksters presented in 3rd Edition. This lore should be appropriate for any setting that follows the cosmology presented in the 5th Edition Dungeon Master's Guide.
