As with most early D&D Dungeon magazine adventures the original suggested levels may not be the equivalent of their 5e counterparts. I've converted this adventure with a party of 4 and levels 5-6 in mind and for it to be very challenging¸ however if you want to increase the difficulty the DMG page 82 sets out XP thresholds. I would suggest adding monsters in line with these thresholds¸ to aid in this I will note the encounter difficulty for each one. That said the final encounter and the lead up to it can be challenging for characters of higher levels and is more than deadly for characters of 5-6th level. The Dark Tower of Cabilar is found in issue #1 and provides the adventurers the opportunity to assault a tower and take on a vampire¸ (well a weakened vampire as a full vampire would massacre a lower level party!).
