Striggan (Owl-folk Race) (5e)
A 5e-compatible race This creature is lithe and covered in feathers. Its head swivels in all directions as its large eyes search its surroundings. The creature opens its beak slightly and its face shifts into what must be a smile. Update: I have released a new version of the striggan¸ or owlborn¸ that is nerfed slightly to be balanced with other playable 5e races. Many abilities that granted Advantage to skill checks have been reworked to instead grant proficiency or static bonuses. The original (v1) and updated (v2) files are both available as part of this product. Striggan (commonly called owlborn or owl-folk by other races) are a species of bipedal owls. They form small groups¸ tribes¸ or villages¸ often in heavily wooded areas¸ except for the smaller grallar ¸ who live in deserts and dry regions such as plains. They are fantastic hunters who prefer night to day and love to eat meat. They make excellent trackers¸ like their cousins¸ the owlbjörn (or urstridja). Striggan¸ however¸ are more inclined to follow a ranger tradition¸ although they do have strong warriors among them. There are four subraces of striggan: glaxi¸ grallar¸ nacuru¸ and skadii. Additionally¸ one out of about every one hundred eggs hatches into a noble striggan.
