Blood Sworn Class (5e)
The Blood Sworn Flavour Deep in the endless waves of time¸ a dark deal was struck the nature of which would entwine those who enter into it with the ancient power of blood magic. The Blood Sworn are monster hunters¸ they have risked there lives to go through a process called the "The Binding".The Binding joins the blood of the candidate with that of the very monsters they chose to pursue¸ this swears them not only in word but in blood. Giving them similar abilities to those of the very beasts they hunt. The Binding grants them magical abilities through their blood¸ they may draw on insights and memories from past Blood Sworn to aid in the tracking and fighting of the beasts they hunt. They can now magically imbue their weapons with power causing a variety of inflictions and effects with their weapons. They can cast spells through ancient blood magic called "the Sign". The process of the binding causes great strain on the candidates and causes physical and mental manifestations. Mechanics A 5th Edition Class¸ Melee Half Caster Based on a combination of different pop culture elements¸ Van Heisling¸ Meets the Witcher and Matt Mercers Blood Hunter class. Originally developed as an alternative to the latter for one of my players which was later developed into a full class. It draws heavily of the original themes and subclasses of Mathew Mercer's first initial draughts of the Class. Though it now employs its own costing system for spells¸ potions¸ weapon enhancements and curses. Along with unique naming¸ lore and structures. It leans more heavily into a traditional half caster (ranger¸ paladin)and as such is less experimental in its application. It's quite a large class so there are a lot of variables and potential points of abuse. As such it hasn't been tested for multiclassing and probably shouldn't be used in such circumstances. (My player is currently playing through at level 6 so I've tested to this point and seems to be holding well compared to the other players.)
