Names (d20)
My 21st Guide on Worldbuilding and Homebrew Rules? Another opportunity to make your campaign feel unique.
>>> I explore other ways to name your heroes that will make them feel more a part of a fantasy world. I find this tiny change really adds a lot of roleplaying flavors and makes your campaign more interesting. <<<
An often overlooked part of a homebrew world is the hero's and NPCs' names. In my world¸ if you hear the name McBrand of Eastriver then you are sure you are looking for a halfling. If you hear rumors of a Miss Brighthut then you know it's a gnome. Heard of the villain Kurget the Horrible¸ must be a half-orc. Tonight at the inn¸ O'Gimlock Duffen-Hall the 5th is playing? Can only be a Teifling.
Having distinct naming conventions (beyond the simple ones given in the PHB) will instantly make your heroes pop.
