Companion Delves 1: Battlement Commander Kyrill (d20)
Companion Delves offer a companion class NPC statted at two levels with a delve of three encounters involving the companion.
Battlement Commander Kyrill involves three back to back encounters defending a city wall segment from attack. Scenario mechanics allow for some power and surge recovery between attacks as well as changing terrain issues based on incoming artillery attacks from trebuchets.
The document includes Kyrill at 6th and 8th level with different encounter groups for character levels from 5th to 9th. There are three new magic items (Dark Stroke Falchion¸ Python Rod & Rhino Hide) and two new consumables (Dust of Appearance and Dust of Tracelessness) detailed along with 8 new monsters (War Drake¸ Imperial War-Fire and Telrini Infiltrator at two levels¸ plus four orcs: Death Shaman¸ Scout¸ Veteran and Wall Climber). There are three color wall sheets and two cut out assaukt tower templates all gridded for "battlemap" use.
The advanture is easily slipped into any campaign as it involves a quick trip to the past. It can be played with or without the companion character. Aftermath options include a result that both includes Kyrill or leaves him behind in the past.
Kyrill is detailed at 6th and 8th level under the companion rules so that he may be added to player parties as an extra character if desired / needed before or after the scenario in this document. A full page color portrait of Kyrill (the cover with no writing) is included as well.
